Sweet baby

Devon is the happiest first thing in the morning. He's well rested, fed, changed, and dressed for the day. Some mornings I go into his room to check on him and he is awake in his crib holding his feet.

He loves to put his toes in his mouth so the feet on his "footie" pajamas are sometimes a little damp before we put him to bed.

He is a pretty happy guy, but he has been sick this week with a cold. We have spent the past few days at home making sure he gets lots of rest. He is still not sleeping through the night quite yet, but I am managing. Once I put him down he will initially sleep for 4-6 hours straight, up every 2 hours until 8:00 am and by then he is ready to play. I think that sleeping through the night is right around the corner.

Let's go to the movies: The Duchess

I am one of those people who go to a movie thinking I will love it ("Burn after reading") and then I end up really hating it. Or I go to a movie thinking I will hate it and end up loving it and crying half way though. Let me just say that I definitely fall into the later category. I loved this movie. I have been waiting for a well done period movie that A) didn't bore me to tears ("Emma" with Gweneth Paltrow) or B) would not be so completely boring that I would get up and leave halfway through (that one with Kristin Dunst). The Duchess was beautiful to look at with all of the lush English landscape, the beautiful furnishings and sets, the costumes, the make up and the HAIR. I was not a Keira Knightly fan until now (she always does that "lip thing"), but she won me over. I thought her portrayal of a caring mother was convincing and very heartfelt. (For those of you who are a little on the "sensitive mommy side" you may need a tissue for one scene in particular.) I always appreciate when a film can win me over without excessive bad language, nudity, or violence and this movie was able to show love and passion without any nudity. I would not drag your husband to this because he will definately hate it, but it would be a great girls night flick.

Let's go to the movies: Rockn Rolla

This was a very Guy Ritchie movie. That means I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, for the first 20 minutes I had no idea what anyone was saying with all of the different accents, but ultimately it was entertaining. I always appreciate when movies don't use gratuitous blood and violence but still manage to have some action to keep it going. There was also very little swearing and no nudity. The plot was interesting, although a little hard to follow due to the long list of supporting characters who all seem to be integral to the plot. Ludacris and Jeremy Piven made (unmemorable) cameos and Gerarde Butler (from 300) played one of the leading roles. I met him when he was at the Ranch training for 300 and he is like .... 9 feet tall and very dreamy. Like .... had-a-hard-time-recalling-my-name kind of dreamy. And then he said,"Nice to meet you" in his thick, Scottish accent and I think all I was able to respond with was nervous laughter, looking at the ground and a dopey grin. This movie had surprising funny moments and creative elements that you don't see in most movies. I would recommend this, but it may not be for everyone.

I ......

I am a wife and mother.
I over salt most of my food most of the time.
I am a cat person, but I think this is the case only because I have never had a dog.
I am grateful to know true love and live everyday in a happy marriage.
I drink coffee every morning. I take it with Splenda and sugar free vanilla creamer.
I am a college graduate.
I buy yogurt covered pretzels in bulk.
I eat pancakes more that once a week.
I have converted to the church of wheat germ and ground flax seed and believe that they truly make miracles happen.
I don't drink beer.
I am paranoid that if I don't wear my seat belt that I will get into a car accident, get seriously disfigured, and have to hear someone tell me, "This wouldn't have happened if you had been wearing your seat belt."
I love to bowl.
I am either very early or very late, but rarely on time.
I don't eat chocolate .... unless it is covering English toffee.
I am fascinated by the Sham Wow and other infomercial products.
I am a Yoga teacher and feel lucky to be one.
I have traveled all over the world.

I love when people tell really complicated or mundane stories that don't have a point that by the end they forget why they were telling the story in the first place. You know if you've done this because I will say, "That was a really good story. You should tell that at parties."
I feel the most like myself when I practice yoga.
I am a loyal friend, but I find it hard to find loyal friends.
I am afraid of death.
I am afraid of the dark.
I am afraid of dying in the dark.
I wear contacts for being nearsighted.
I speed.
I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator.
I think offering to babysit my kid is the ultimate expression of love and thoughtfulness.

I love Spanish wines, Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper and eggnog without the rum.
I am a good listener.
I love asking people "would you rather ...." questions just to see the reaction of being asked the question.
Example: Would you rather eat a hand full of dead flies or let a live cockroach crawl around in your mouth for 60 seconds?
I am allergic to sea food.
One of my main goals in life is to avoid being pooped on by a bird.
I am a good cook, but would eat Lean Cuisines and packaged soup everyday if I was single.
I ran 2 marathons.

I floss everyday ever since my brother's dentist told him that not flossing for 1 day is like not brushing your teeth for 4.
I am a firm believer that bacon makes everything taste better.
I am genuinely afraid of scary movies and never watch them.
I am highly entertained by literal humor.
I remember when I was a teenager thinking that 29 was old.
I turn 29 years old today.

Ta da!

This video has 3 sections of goodness:
1. The bubble blowing at the beginning.
2. The rolling in the middle.
3. The smiling at the end.
